Flooring Installation & Replacement

Floor Installation Process

In a perfect world, where everything was constructed as it should be, a flooring project would always be relatively cut and dry. All sub flooring would be in perfect condition, perfectly level, and all walls would be perfectly plum, coming together at a perfect right angle.

As one of the most experienced flooring teams in Maryland, we realize the impossibility of that scenario and plan accordingly. We have seen it all. Our process allows for any unimaginable circumstance so we can always roll through an installation and deliver the best without the customer knowing otherwise.

The Design Process

We get a full understanding of what you, the customer, wants and help you achieve your goals and avoid pitfalls. We take your ideal vision and map it out with precise measurements, so the installation most appropriately fits the layout of your home. We then provide a visual of the final layout for your approval, so you can get an idea of how the final product will look.

Getting Started

Our crews begin construction by removing the molding over the existing floors. Moldings can be reused if the customer chooses to do so. Once the moldings are safely removed, we start prying up the old floor boards, pulling up old carpet, or removing tile.

We then check the sub-flooring to ensure it’s in good condition and can be used as a reliable base for the new flooring. Any sections that need to be replaced, will be. The last step is cleaning the sub-floor and prepping it for the new flooring applications.

The Flooring

The flooring will now be applied to the sub-floor. This is where the customers customization decisions take center stage. In the case of carpeting, a carpet mat will first be rolled out and cut to fit the entire surface. The carpet will then be rolled on top, cut to fit the entire surface, and then tightened and securely tucked flush up against the wall.

Floor boards will be measured and cut to fit the space with precision. The will be laid to interlock and leave clean straight seams.

Tile will be laid out in advance to ensure an optimal layout and fit. The layout will be drawn onto the sub-floor before the mortar is applied and the tiles are set.

Finishing The Floors

Once the floors are installed, finishing touches must be applied. In regard to carpeting, we ensure there are no bunches, the carpet is firmly set, and all carpet fibers are removed from the carpeting.

In regard to flooring planks, we check lines, ensure optimal contact with the sub floor, and give the surface a thorough cleaning.

For the tile we apply the grout, smooth the grout lines, and thoroughly clean the tile.

For all flooring types we always finish by either installing new molding or reinstalling the molding that was removed at the start of the job.

Our customers know that we can handle any flooring job. We have worked with many customers to install features such as heated floors, recessed flooring lights, and floating floors. We pride ourselves on being able to handle any and all wants. When choosing Aaction to complete your vision, the sky is truly the limit!
